PROJECTION

architectural installation
Ogden Contemporary Arts

Installation Series for one season. Responding to the unique shapes and forms of each structure, the architectural projection mapping brings new digital life to an inanimate building. This corner of Ogden used to be dangerous and run down, a place to be avoided. This art piece announces to the public that it is now an epicenter of creativity and innovation. The addition of an art gallery, studio spaces, farmers market and a restaurant are reviving this street, and this work draws attention to the new energy.

Pop-up Projection art installation with Audience Interactivity
at The Monarch Open Studio Art Festival

The site of this piece is an empty lot that will soon become the Dumke Arts Plaza, with public art, performance spaces, meeting places, and more. Our projection art, in conjunction with an outdoor downtown street festival, invites passersby to engage with our media and thusly engage with this venue in development. As in the first piece, the projection art is reviving a once avoided street corner in Ogden and drawing attention to the exciting new developments on the way.

The live camera feed puts the audience directly into the artwork, and they can control the imagery and effects through their movement. I invited students in my projection design class to experiment as well.
